GTA IV Achievements Guide

    Introduction

GTA IV is remembered for several reasons; its ambiance, its story and character development, and, as usual for a classic GTA game, its difficulty, and its challenges.

Talking about challenges, GTA IV meets the best of the classic and the new world; as a new-era game, it has achievements, and as a classic game, its achievements are very hard to complete, but they are very fun.

The complicated thing about these achievements, as usual in a sandbox game where the story can or can not be linear, is that people don’t know where to start. But that’s why this GTA IV achievements guide exists.

To know how to start, let’s check some important facts about the GTA IV achievements.

    Important Info Before Starting

Grand Theft Auto IV Achievements Guide
    Image from Wiki Fandom
    • Number of Achievements: 66.
    • Difficulty: 7/10; some achievements will take you some time, but there are others that you just can get out of your way in one go. Nonetheless, if you want to complete all the achievements, you’ll be stuck here for a while.
    • Playthroughs Recommended: You can pull all the achievements in one run if you focus on completing the missions quickly for the only missable achievement, Liberty City Minute; otherwise, it can take two runs.
    • Time To Complete: 100 hours or more for GTA IV, 10 hours for The Lost and Damned, and 20 For The Ballad of Gay Tony. Lastly, 60 hours for the GTA IV Online.

    Roadmap

Step 1: Completing the missions and Liberty City Minute

You’ll play the missions normally for this first step, but with a perk, you’ll need to do it fast and not get distracted by anything other than completing the missions and hanging out with your friends whenever they ask you to do it.

If you ask why do you need to complete the game fast? You need to do it in a certain amount of time to get Liberty City Minute.

Key To The City is the achievement you’ll get after getting a 100% completion in the story mode. If you do all the achievements, you’ll be very close to having this one, but I’ll let you a checklist if you missed something.

Step 5: The Lost and Damned

    • TLAD: One Percenter

    • TLAD: Get Good Wood

Step 6: The Ballad of Gay Tony

Of course, these achievements are for the second GTA IV DLC, The Ballad of Gay Tony. Again, these don’t need a specific order more than the ones you’ll get through missions and the rest. Here they are:

    • TBoGT: Diamonds are Forever
    • TBoGT: Maestro
    • TBoGT: Four Play

    • TBoGT: Past The Velvet Rope
    • TBoGT: Gold Star

    Last Step: Online Achievements

The Online Achievements got chopped off the newest versions of the game because the Online Mode got closed. Nonetheless, I’ll give you a quick guide on getting those achievements if the Online Mode gets added once again. These are the achievements here:

    • Teamplayer
    • Cut Your Teeth
    • Join The Midnight Club
    • Fly The Co-Op
    • Taking It For The Team
    • Top of The Food Chain
    • Top The Midnight Club
    • Wanted
    • Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic

Without further ado, let’s get started!

    Impossible Trinity

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 27.41%
    • Difficulty: 2/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to complete the mission “Museum Piece,” where you’ll be trading some diamonds for Ray.

    Gracefully Taken

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 24.04%
    • Difficulty: 2/10.

This achievement will be yours after completing the mission “I’ll Take Her,” where you’ll be kidnapping an objective to use her in a trade.

    That Special Someone

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 21.82%
    • Difficulty: 3/10.

As the name indicates, you’ll get this achievement after completing the mission “That Special Someone,” Where you’ll find your long-desired objective, to meet an old friend.

    You Won!

    • Rarity: Silver.
    • Percentage Earned: 20.16%
    • Difficulty: 5/10.

You’ll get this achievement after completing the whole Story Mode. You’ll have to do one of the two possible last missions, “Out of Commission” or “A Revenger’s Tragedy.”

As I said, there will be some achievements you’ll get passively while completing the story mode; these are:

    Half Million

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 20.17%
    • Difficulty: 3/10.

You’ll get this achievement after getting $500k in your account. It’s easy as there will be some missions that will give you a lot of money, and if you aren’t spending it, you’ll get the achievement very soon.

    Full Exploration

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 30.23%
    • Difficulty: 3/10.

You’ll get this achievement after getting access to all the islands on the map. To do it, you’ll have to complete the mission “3 Leaf Clover.”

    Liberty City Minute

    Liberty City Minute
    Image from Wiki Fandom
    • Rarity: Gold.
    • Percentage Earned: 12.66%
    • Missable?: Yes.
    • Difficulty: 6.5/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to complete all the story mode in 30 real-life hours or less. This will not be very hard if you focus on completing the missions rather than doing side missions, but I recommend you hang out with your friends whenever they offer it to you as there will be some achievements that we need to do when hanging with them.

Liberty City Minute is the only missable achievement because you can complete the game in more than the time required to get the achievement. But don’t worry, in case you missed the chance, I recommend you to start another campaign in another save state and just focus on rushing the Story Mode.

Now let’s step into the achievements you’ll be completing while hanging out with the friends you’ll meet on the adventure. You don’t have to call them out every time; it’s enough if you hang with them whenever they call you. These achievements are:

    Driving Mr. Bellic

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 42.52%
    • Difficulty: 3/10.

For this achievement, you’ll have to have a like percentage of 60% with Roman, unlocking his ability to set a taxi for you without any charges. You can take him to any bar or show or take him to Burger Shot. Roman is always available to hang out.

    Retail Therapy

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 14.99%
    • Difficulty: 3/10.

You’ll need to get Little Jacob’s special ability of him selling guns for you to unlock this achievement. If you want to raise his liking towards you, you’ll have to take him to Club Liberty and play pool or Cluckin’ Bell. He’ll be available to hang out from 1 PM to 4 AM.

    That’s How We Roll!

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 9.88%
    • Difficulty: 3/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to unlock Brucie’s special ability of him taking you to wherever you want in his helicopter. To raise his liking towards you, you can take him to play bowling, take him to the Jerkov’s Bar or even take him to the Starcafe. He’ll be available to hang out from 7 AM to 1 AM.

    Dial B For Bomb

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 9.38%
    • Difficulty: 3/10.

This achievement will be yours after unlocking Packie’s special ability of him planting a bomb on whichever car you want. You can hang out with him in the Lucky Wrinkles bar, eat in Burger Shot, or have a darts match. Packie will be available to hang out from 3 PM to 6 AM if you want to call him.

    Warm Coffee

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 45.31%
    • Difficulty: 3/10.

You’ll have to get invited to a girlfriend’s house after a date to get this achievement. You can have several girlfriends during the game, but the easiest one to pull this achievement is Michelle, as she’s the first girl you’ll meet. You’ll be able to hang with her after the mission “Three’s A Crowd.”

To impress Michelle, call her first, take a good car, and take her to Lucky Wrinkles or Steinway Beer Garden, as she likes to drink. Afterward, you can invite her to play darts or pool, and towards the end of the date, try luck asking her if you can get to her house. If she refuses, ask for another date later in the game, inviting her to the same places, and eventually, you’ll make it to her house.

If you want to pull this achievement with another girlfriend, wait for her to invite you to date to see where she wants to go, then take the girl to the place she wanted to go when she called you, and eventually, you’ll make it.

    Liberty City (5)

    • Rarity: Silver.
    • Percentage Earned: 5.70%
    • Difficulty: 5/10.

This one is a very hard achievement as you’ll have to have your friends like you on 90% or more. You’ll meet five friends during the adventure; The aforementioned Roman, Little Jacob, Brucie, Packie, and Dwayne, who doesn’t have an achievement by himself.

As you might know, depending on the decisions you take in the game, you’ll have more or fewer friends because you can lose Roman and Dwayne, so if you are at the very end of the game and you only have three friends, they are enough to complete the achievement. These will be Little Jacob, Brucie, and Packie.

But, if Dwayne is still on your friends’ list (meaning that he’s not dead), and you need to take his liking towards you to 90%, you can take him to Bowling or Cluckin’ Bell and Bars like Liberty Club or Jerkov’s.

Hanging out with your friends leads you to play some minigames, and some of them have achievements to complete. Let’s see them:

    One Hundred and Eighty

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 19.24%
    • Difficulty: 4/10.

This achievement will be yours after getting 180 points in one turn of a Darts match. To do it, you’ll have to hit treble 20 three times in a row.

For those who aren’t darts connoisseurs, treble 20 is the red space between the two black ends of the 20 row in the darts plate. In a darts game, you can hold your breath to enhance your accuracy for a second, so your task is to aim to the treble 20 and shoot. Take your time and practice until you make it.

    Pool Shark

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 22.37%
    • Difficulty: 3/10.

To get this achievement, you have to play a Pool match with a friend and win.

If you aren’t used to the pool rules, there are two kinds of balls on the table, the full-colored ones, and the striped ones. When organized, the first player to hit the balls will decide which kind of ball will have to pot on the holes to win.

This means that if your opponent pots a striped ball, they will need to pot all the striped ones to win, meaning that you’ll need to pot all the full-colored ones, and vice-versa. After potting all the balls, the last one you need to pot is the 8-ball. If you do it first, you’ll win.

Of course, this will need some practice, but you’ll get used to the controls fairly quickly. Don’t follow all the instructions the game gives you to shoot and try to get a shot by yourself.

    Gobble Gobble

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 7.43%
    • Difficulty: 4/10.

Another achievement which is more of a practice to make it perfect as you need to play bowling and make three strikes in a row to get the achievement.

There’s a sequence of steps to get your chances of getting a strike; the idea is to make a slow shot in the middle of the channel to make the ball don’t move out of the center. To do it, you have to take two steps to the left of where you start, then hold the stick back for a second (if you are playing with a controller), and then pull the stick all the way up but slowly; that will make a slow but steady shot to the middle. Practice the process until you make it perfect, and then go for the three strikes.

    Step 2 Achievements

    gta 4 Step 2 Achievements

In this step, we will be doing all the game’s side missions. They are mostly easy, so you’ll have a lot of fun with them. Let’s go!

    Genetically Superior

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 4.50%
    • Difficulty: 6/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to win 20 races. The races will get unlocked after meeting Brucie and completing the mission “No. 1.” This mission includes a race, so you’ll need to beat another 19 to get the achievement. Whenever you need to make a race, you can call Brucie.

    Courier Service

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 10.53%
    • Difficulty: 4/10.

You’ll get this achievement after completing ten drug delivery missions for Little Jacob. These will be available after completing the mission “Concrete Jungle.”

    Order Fulfilled

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 13.72%
    • Difficulty: 5/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to complete the ten exotic car export orders given by Brucie via email (so you have to go to a tw@ café to take them) after completing the mission “Logging On.”

    Manhunt

    gta iv Manhunt
    Image from Wiki Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 6.95%
    • Difficulty: 6/10.

You’ll need to hunt the 30 criminals of Liberty City to get this achievement. You’ll get access to the criminal database on any cop car after completing the mission “Portrait of a Killer.” You’ll find ten criminals per island, so taking the 30 will give you the achievement.

    Cleaned the Mean Streets

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 7.94%
    • Difficulty: 5/10.

You’ll get this achievement alongside Manhunt after hunting 20 different criminals through the criminal database on the cop cars.

    You Got the Message

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 5.30%
    • Difficulty: 5/10.

This achievement will be yours after delivering the 30 cars asked by Stevie, Brucie’s friend, who you’ll meet after the mission “Smackdown.”

This achievement will take you a while, but it’s not hard as Stevie will tell you exactly where to find all the needed cars.

    Assassin’s Greed

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 15.59%
    • Difficulty: 5/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to complete the nine assassin missions The Fixer gives after the mission “Truck Hustle.” You’ll have to meet Phil Bell in “Truck Hustle,” and he will introduce The Fixer to you as a work offer. After accepting, an indicator will appear on the map, showing where you can start with the missions.

If you got here, you have finished all the principal and side missions of the game, meaning that the only thing you have to do in GTA IV is to complete the extra challenges. Be aware that this will be the step that will take you the most time. Let’s go!

    Step 3 Achievements

    gta 4 Step 3 Achievements
    Image from Wiki Fandom

    King of CUB3D

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 10.73%
    • Difficulty: 4/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to score more than 10950 points in QUB3D, a minigame that you’ll find in several bars across the city.

The game isn’t hard to get used to, and the score you have to overcome is not high, but this might take you a couple of tries.

The game is like a Tetris but a bit more complicated; the objective is to get points by joining squares of the same color. You’ll always see a couple of squares falling, and you have to organize the squares to get points. Getting points will give you certain superpowers that you can activate to get rid of large rows or pillars of squares and have a chance to win.

There’s not a certain guide to beating the game as the squares will always be random, but if you have played Tetris, the concept of not blocking the path of the squares to create more points will work perfectly for this minigame.

    Finish Him

    • Rarity: Bronze
    • Percentage Earned: 6.68%
    • Difficulty: 6/10

For this achievement, you’ll have to engage and win ten fights with strangers by knocking them out. This is harder than it sounds as many factors can ruin the fights, like pedestrians running away instead of fighting or cops trying to put you into jail; that’s why you can’t engage in fights in any random place, and it will be even worse if you do it the city.

So, which is the most recommended place you can do this challenge? The Higgins Helitour Pier, in Algonquin. The community recommends this place because it is hard for cops to get there, and all the pedestrians you engage will fight with you no matter what.

And as for the battles, start them all with a strong hit, then wait to avoid their hit and go for a punch. Do it until you get the ten battles completed.

    Wheelie Rider

    wheelie rider
    Image from Wiki Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze
    • Percentage Earned: 31.76%
    • Difficulty: 4/10

To get this achievement, you’ll have to perform a wheelie on a bike for 500 feet without stopping anytime. The best way to do it is by taking a sports bike and heading into Francis Airport or any long space without obstacles or curves and then doing the wheelie there.

If you don’t know how to do a wheelie, you have to sightly hold the left stick back and then carefully press the right trigger to advance with the bike; that’s how you perform a wheelie.

    Rolled Over

    • Rarity: Bronze
    • Percentage Earned: 9.98%
    • Difficulty: 5/10

You’ll get this achievement after performing five air rolls with a car. There are many ways to do this challenge, but the best way is to do several jumps without stopping the car at any moment.

The challenge’s description says that you need to do the five air rolls in the air with one jump, but that’s not true; you can even perform one air roll per jump and get the achievement with one condition, never stop accelerating.

The best place to do this challenge is, again, in Francis Airport, with a sports car, and using all the yellow barriers with signings. Pass through the barriers with only one side of the car, and try to roll in the air with the controller’s sticks.

    Chain Reaction

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 8.69%
    • Difficulty: 3/10.

This achievement will be yours after exploding ten cars in ten seconds or less. It sounds hard, but there is an easy way to do this; with a gas station.

Find a gas station, stock all the cars you need there, and launch some rockets at the gas pumps and to the cars. The achievement will pop up if you do it right.

    One Man Army

    • Rarity: Silver.
    • Percentage Earned: 16.48%
    • Difficulty: 6/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll need to survive to a 6-star wanted level for 5 minutes. This one is fairly hard, but you can use your safe houses to perform this one. There are many ways to get this achievement, most of them even before completing the story mode by getting down the train tracks and running to the other islands through the Broker Bridge sidewalk where the cops can’t find you.

Another way to get the achievement is by getting the star-wanted levels and then flying up to a high building, taking all the helicopters down while avoiding ground fights.

The quickest way (and my favorite) to get a 6-star wanted level is by taking a rifle and start killing all the people across your way, including cops. Do it near a safe house, preferably the one in Algonquin.

Then, after you get at least 4 or 5 stars, get into the house and start killing cops in the hallways of the safe house and when you get the 6-star wanted level, just get into your room and hang there until you get the achievement. After getting it, just go to sleep, and you’ll lose the star wanted level.

    It’ll Cost Ya

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 26.15%
    • Difficulty: 1/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to travel from one island to other without skipping the cinematic. You can do it by taking a taxi near the bridges, and if you don’t want to spend money and still have the option available, you can call Roman to ask for a taxi for free. Remember not to skip the cinematic, or you’ll not get the achievement.

    Sightseer

    gta 4 Sightseer
    Image from Wiki Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 6.95%
    • Difficulty: 1/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to take all the five helicopter tours of the Heli Tours in Algonquin. You can skip the cinematics this time.

    Dare Devil

    • Rarity: Silver.
    • Percentage Earned: 3.63%
    • Difficulty: 8/10.

You’ll have to perform the 50 stunt jumps on the map to get this achievement. I recommend doing this with a bike instead of a car as it’ll be easier to control.

    Under The Radar

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 10.78%
    • Difficulty: 6/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to fly under the 14 main bridges on the map. I recommend doing this with a chopper as they are easier to control in the air and are smaller, so you have more chances to fit under the bridges.

    Endangered Species

    • Rarity: Silver.
    • Percentage Earned: 3.04%
    • Difficulty: 8/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to recollect the 200 hidden packages and to do it, you’ll have to kill the 200 pigeons of the game. Unfortunately, some pigeons are hard to spot, so you have to be patient and carefully look for them.

    No More Strangers

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 4.60%
    • Difficulty: 6/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to find all the stranger encounters in the game. There are 14 new people to meet in 22 different short missions that won’t take you more than 3 minutes per mission. The hard part is finding them.

Here’s a list of the 22 encounters and where to find them:

    • Brian: In Hove Beach, near the Express Cab Service in Broker (First encounter after the mission “It’s Your Call”), In Hove Beach near the Sex Shop (Second encounter), and in Downtown Broker near the Gun Shop (Last encounter).
    • Badman: In East Island City, sitting on a bench near Dukes Boulevard (After the mission “Shadow”).
    • Mel: In Hove Beach, near the Russian Shop (After “Escuela Of The Streets”).
    • Hossan: In Suffolk, near the west side of Garnet Street (After “The Puerto Rican Connection”).
    • Ilyena: In Funland, near Wappinger Avenue (After “The Puerto Rican Connection”).
    • Pathos: In Star Junction near the Burger Shot (First encounter after “The Puerto Rican Connection”) and near the Sprunk sign in Star Junction (Last encounter).
    • Sara: In Suffolk, on Back Passage, in front of a clothing store (First encounter after “The Puerto Rican Connection”) and in front of Pier 45 on Fishmarket South (Last encounter).
    • Jeff: In East Holland, in front of the Puerto Rico flag paint (First encounter after “Photo Shoot”), In the underground parking lot in Lancaster (Second encounter), and sitting on a bench near Little Italy (Last encounter).
    • Cherise: Near the Cluckin’ Bell in Northwood (After “The Holland Play,” but only if you spared her in “Ruff Rider.” If you killed her, she doesn’t count for the achievement, so don’t worry).
    • Eddie Low: In Alderney City, near the Auto Eroticar (First encounter, after “Three Leaf Clover”) and in an alleyway in Berchem, near Cockerell Avenue (Last encounter).
    • Ivan: In Acter, between Mueri Street and Farnsworth Road (After “Three Leaf Clover,” but only if you spared him in “Ivan The Not So Terrible.” If you killed him, he doesn’t count for the achievement).
    • Marnie: In City Hall, sitting on a bench in the little park (First encounter after “Three Leaf Clover”), and near Bernie’s house in Varsity Heights (Last encounter).
    • Clarence: In front of East Holland (After “Blood Brothers,” but only if you spared him in “Holland Nights.” If you killed him, he doesn’t count for the achievement).

    Key To The City

    • Rarity: Gold.
    • Percentage Earned: 2.44%
    • Difficulty: 9/10.

If you get this achievement, it means that you get 100% completion of GTA IV. So if you did all the previous achievements after ending with No More Strangers, you should get this one, but if you did not, you have to complete:

    • All the missions of the Story Mode.
    • All of Stevie’s car thefts.
    • The Most Wanted hunts.
    • All the Stranger Encounters.
    • All the Little Jacob’s drug deliveries.
    • All of Brucie’s Exotic Cars Exports.
    • All of Brucie’s Races.
    • Win a match of bowling, darts, and pool and beat the record in QUB3D.
    • All the Assassinations.
    • Having your friends likeness to 70% or higher (Only Packie, Little Jacob, and Brucie counts for the achievement).
    • All the 50 Stunt Jumps.
    • 20 Vigilante hunts.
    •  All the 200 Pigeons.

We are done with GTA IV; it’s time to get into the two DLCs. Don’t worry; these are very short.

Also, this is a great moment to get Liberty City Minute if you missed it for the first time!

In this step, we will be doing all the TLAD achievements.

    TLAD: One Percenter

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 53.11%
    • Difficulty: 2/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to complete the mission “Clean and Serene.”

    TLAD: The Lost Boy

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 27.77%
    • Difficulty: 2/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to become the leader of The Lost MC by completing the mission “This Shit’s Cursed.”

    TLAD: Easy Rider

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 22.23%
    • Difficulty: 4/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to complete the Story Mode of TLAD.

    TLAD: Get Good Wood

    TLAD: Get Good Wood
    Image from Wiki Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 4.54%
    • Difficulty: 6/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to knock 69 bikers on the races with a bat. There are 12 races in the DLC, and you can repeat them whenever you want, so it’s more of a grinding achievement.

    TLAD: Full Chat

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 4.54%
    • Difficulty: 6/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to build Terry and Clay’s toughness to 100%. Again, this sounds tricky, but it’s more of a grinding achievement.

You’ll have to make the gang wars with them, but before, be sure you don’t have the auto-save activated, because Terry and Clay can die during the gang wars, and we don’t need that. You’ll get their toughness to 100% after completing all the gang wars with them.

Now that we ended with TLAD, it’s time to get into TBoGT, which has some very hard achievements to get. Let’s go!

    TBoGT: Diamonds Are Forever

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 38.94%
    • Difficulty: 3/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to complete the mission “Not So Fast.”

    TBoGT: Maestro

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 32.71%
    • Difficulty: 4/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to complete all the missions of the DLC.

    TBoGT: Four Play

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 16.88%
    • Difficulty: 4/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to hit the red flag four times while playing golf. It sounds tricky, but it’s way easier than you might think.

The first thing you need to know is that you don’t need to do it consecutively, and you have ten balls per match, so don’t feel pressured to do it fast. Second, you only need to aim at the black pole of the red flag, which you can do easily by zooming and placing the white dot of the indicator exactly where the black pole is.

Now that you aimed, it’s time for the strength of the shot. If you look closely, the strength bar has a black bar; aim for it. It might take you some practice at first, but remember, you don’t need to do it consecutively, and you have all the attempts you want.

    TBoGT: Bear Fight

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 9.46%
    • Difficulty: 6/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to become the champion of the L.C Cage Fighters Championship.

In the cage fights, you’ll be 1v1 against a bot, and the only recommendation I’ll give you is to use the same strat for the achievement “Finish Him,” engage a combat, wait for them to hit, and then counter attack. With that strat, you’ll avoid getting hit.

You’ll become the champion after completing six rounds.

    TBoGT: Catch The Bus

    TBoGT: Catch The Bus

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 9.36%
    • Difficulty: 3/10.

This achievement will be yours after completing “the bus stop” on the dancefloor of both of Tony’s clubs.

You don’t have to dance perfectly even though the description says you need to; the only thing you need to do is not fail many times, and you’ll be ok.

The first thing you need to do is start dancing with a girl. I recommend going first to the Hercules club and dancing there. You’ll be dancing with this girl (which isn’t hard, it’s just a matter of following the instructions) and two different things will happen. If you don’t dance properly, the girl will kiss you and go, and if you do it right, a “Bus Stop” will start. The Bus Stop is even easier than the first dance part as it’s a quick-time event dance where you’ll only need to press the buttons the game indicates to you.

After completing the “Bus Stop” in Hercules, go to the Maisonette 9 and do the same process. After that, the achievement will be yours.

    TBoGT: Snow Queen

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 13.01%
    • Difficulty: 6/10.

You’ll unlock this achievement after completing 25 Drug Wars for Armando and Henrique. These missions will be available after completing the mission “Corner Kids.” To start a Drug War, you’ll see some checkpoints on the map, and it will be enough to go there.

The good thing is that if you are running low on guns and ammo, by completing these Drug Wars, you’ll get many new weapons and ammo to use.

25 Drug Wars are hard to complete but mostly because of the amount of time it’ll take you, so it’s better to pull this out in several game sessions.

    TBoGT: Adrenaline Junkie

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 16.43%
    • Difficulty: 4/10.

This achievement will be yours after jumping from as high as possible from a helicopter or airplane and opening the parachute as late as possible.

You can get this achievement during the last mission of the game, but if you didn’t get it, you can do it by taking a helicopter and getting as high as possible.

If you pay attention to the minimap when flying, you’ll notice a black bar across it. You’ll know you got to the maximum height when the bar gets to the top of the minimap. When the bar gets to the top, jump out of your aircraft and don’t open the parachute until the black bar gets to the bottom of the minimap. You should get the achievement after that.

Of course, I recommend trying this achievement while flying upon the sea if you don’t want to get constantly to the hospital.

TBoGT: Past The Velvet Rope and TBoGT: Gold Star

    TBoGT: Past The Velvet Rope

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 1.74%
    • Difficulty: 9/10.

    TBoGT: Gold Star

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 1.64%
    • Difficulty: 10/10.

These two achievements are the hardest ones of all the GTA IV because to obtain them; you’ll have to meet the Gold Medal requirements of TBoGT missions.

This is the first time Rockstar implemented the Gold Medal Requirements that later got used for GTA V. The good thing is that you can replay the TBoGT missions whenever you want through your phone, and after completing a mission for the first time, you’ll know which are the requirements to get the Gold Medal.

Of course, if you go for the “Gold Star” Achievement, you’ll get “Past The Velvet Rope.”

After completing all the TBoGT achievements, you officially got all the game’s achievements! Congratulations!

There are some achievements left that are related to the Online Mode, but these got deleted because the Online Mode servers got closed. Nonetheless, here’s a guide to get these achievements:

    Teamplayer

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 9.51%
    • Difficulty: 5/10.

You’ll have to kill 5 team members of the opposite team in a deathmatch to get this achievement.

    Cut Your Teeth

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 34.96%
    • Difficulty: 2/10.

This achievement will be yours after getting promoted to Rank 1 in the Online Mode. To get there, you’ll have to have $1000.

    Join The Midnight Club

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 5.90%
    • Difficulty: 3/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to win a race without damaging your vehicle very much. Unfortunately, there’s no indication of how much you can’t damage the vehicle, so the best thing is to create a private race with a friend, choose a short race, and compete there. The less you crash, the better.

    Fly The Co-Op

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 1.67%
    • Difficulty: 8/10.

This achievement is very hard as you have to complete “Hangman’s NOOSE,” “Deal Breaker,” and “Bomb Da Base II” in a certain amount of time.

    • Hangman’s NOOSE: 2:32
    • Deal Breaker: 7:03
    • Bomb Da Base II: 5:34

To get this done, you’ll have to play with your friends; the best you get organized with them, the better. With some practice, you’ll get your times down until reaching those.

    Taking It For The Team

Taking It For The Team gta
    Image from Wiki Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 2.15%
    • Difficulty: 5/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to win a match of Team Deathmatch, Team Mafia Work, Team Car Jack City, Cops and Crooks, and Turf War.

    Top Of The Food Chain

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 5.42%
    • Difficulty: 5/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to score 20 kills with a pistol in a Team Deathmatch. However, you can create a room to play with only pistols, so this achievement is fairly easy.

    Top The Midnight Club

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 2.24%
    • Difficulty: 6/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to win 20 races.

    Wanted

    • Rarity: Gold.
    • Percentage Earned: 2.25%
    • Difficulty: 8/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to get promoted to Rank 10, which requires you to have $5M. You’ll get here only if you play, so you must dedicate a lot of time to this achievement.

    Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 1.23%
    • Difficulty: 9/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to win in all the multiplayer games available. For the missions (Hangman’s NOOSE, Deal Breaker, and Bomb Da Base II), you’ll have to play them with at least two more players in the match and complete the mission.

    Let The Rockstars Lie

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 44.48%
    • Difficulty: 1/10.

At this point, getting this achievement is very easy as you only need to kill a Rockstar.

A Rockstar is a player who killed a Rockstar Developer in the online mode. If someone kills a Rockstar, they will be a Rockstar too; that’s why the achievement is very easy. Kill people in Deathmatches until you step on a Rockstar.

    Taking a Liberty

    • Rarity: Platinum.
    • Percentage Earned: 0.93%
    • Difficulty: 10/10.

You’ll get the last achievement after collecting all the achievements from GTA IV, GTA IV: TLAD, and GTA IV: TBoGT.

    FAQs

Question: Do the cheats disable achievements in GTA IV?

Answer: Yes, they do. I don’t recommend hunting achievements while doing cheats, as it’ll be a waste of time.

Question: Which is the hardest GTA IV achievement?

Answer: The difficulty of GTA IV’s achievements is because of the amount of time they take. So, if you take that into account, the hardest achievements have to be Endangered Species, TLAD: Get Good Wood, and TBoGT: Gold Star, being the last the most difficult to get because of the Gold Medal Requirements.

Question: What happened to the Online Mode Achievements?

Answer: When GTA IV got released, its Online Mode got supported by Windows Live. But, in 2020, the platform stopped existing, forcing Rockstar to remove the Online Mode from the game and release a complete edition with the two DLCs available with the base game.

    Conclusion

If you made it until Taking a Liberty, I want to congrats you. You ran through one of the hardest games in terms of achievements because of the number of little things that, one by one, made you sit still and play for several hours, giving your maximum effort and running through with a lot of patience. So now, you can say you are one of the few that belongs to the 0.93% that made stories inside the GTA world.
