GTA V The Big Score Guide

    Introduction

Normally, when someone asks me for a game with great replayability, I think of GTA V, and it’s because of their achievements. GTA V’s achievements encourage the player to explore the complete map and discover all the little secrets the game offers and those small perks that make the game feel like an alive world. And if you thought it wasn’t enough with the Story Mode, GTA V also offers GTA Online, with many achievements waiting to get completed.

But sometimes, the amount of activities that can give achievements is so big that we simply don’t know where to go, or the achievements’ descriptions can be very vague, which doesn’t help either, so that’s why I’m giving you this GTA V achievements guide.

Here, you’ll find all the requirements to get all the game’s achievements. There are 78 to unlock, so there’s not much time to waste; let’s go!

    Important Info Before Starting

    • Number of Achievements: 78.
    • Difficulty: 10/10; The amount of time you need to invest in the game to get all the achievements is very high, and you’ll also need to grind through a lot of hours only to complete one achievement.
    • Playthroughs Recommended: 1. You don’t need to play the complete game several times to get all the achievements. In fact, I don’t recommend doing it; you’ll lose the progress for the 100%. Of course, the capacity to replay whatever you want makes all the achievements unskippable, and you can try to get them all the times you want.
    • Time To Complete: 200 Hours or more, the amount of time will harshly depend on your luck in GTA Online.

    Roadmap

GTA V is dense. We just can’t get to the map and start exploring all the places without knowing what to do. That’s why we have to follow certain steps and know where to go to get all the achievements without wasting valuable time. Our objective is to get Los Santos Legend, the achievement given after completing all the game’s achievements.

GTA V and GTA Online have only a few achievements in common, but you won’t need anything from the Story Mode to complete the Online achievements; I’ll split the roadmap into two big parts.

    GTA V Achievements

Step 1: Story Mode and Strangers and Freaks missions

The first thing you need to complete all the game’s achievements is to know the map very well, as most achievements are based on finding things or people. So, the first thing you need to do is complete the game.

Complete all the main missions, explore as much as you want, and if you see a Strangers and Freaks mission or a Random Event, don’t hesitate to do it, as they will work as an advance for the 100% achievement. Remember, the Random Events are light blue dots on the map, while the Strangers and Freaks missions will be marked as interrogation signs with a color depending on if Trevor, Michael, or Franklin can do the mission; Orange for Trevor, blue for Michael, and green for Franklin.

These are the achievements you’ll get in this step:

    • Welcome To Los Santos
    • Diamond Hard
    • A Friendship Resurrected
    • Subversive
    • Blitzed
    • A Fair Day’s Pay
    • Small Town, Big Job
    • The Moment of Truth
    • The Government Gimps
    • The Big One!
    • To Live or Die in Los Santos
    • Altruist Acolyte
    • Wanted: Alive or Alive
    • Kifflom!

These achievements are unskippable as they will pop up after completing certain missions.

Also, as soon as you start, you’ll notice that you’ll get a medal based on if you completed some requirements after the end of the mission. These are the Gold Medals, and you’ll need them for another achievement.

If you are an experienced GTA V player, you can try to get the Gold Medals while completing the missions for the first time, and if you are not, I recommend replaying these missions later as you don’t need to play the complete game to rebeat the missions.

    Step 2: Collectibles and Challenges

These achievements will take you the most time in GTA V as you’ll have to explore the complete map while looking for the collectibles. Also, you’ll have to complete the challenges; locating all the ramps, bridges, Letter Scraps, Spaceship Parts, etc., can be stressful. Nonetheless, we need to complete all of these collections and challenges to advance with the achievements.

These are the achievements you’ll get in this step:

    • A Mystery, Solved
    • From Beyond The Stars
    • Waste Management
    • Cryptozoologist
    • Show Off
    • Close Shave
    • Red Mist

Step 3: Rockstar Editor Mode Achievements

For this step, you’ll need to complete some Strangers and Freaks missions, several Random Events, and get some of the collectibles from the previous step.

Here, you’ll be doing all the Rockstar Editor-related achievements. Most of them are about messing around with the Director Mode and playing there with some specific characters. But, again, these won’t take you much time, so this will be a short step.

These are the achievements you’ll get in this step:

    • Vinewood Visionary
    • Majestic
    • First Time Director
    • Humans of Los Santos
    • Animal Lover
    • Ensemble Piece
    • Cult Movie
    • Location Scout
    • Method Actor

Step 4: Activities around San Andreas

    gta v san andreas achievements
    Image from Fandom

This is my favorite step mostly because you’ll be doing some activities like playing darts or golf, participating in races or triathlons, and completing some extra challenges.

These are the achievements that you’ll unlock on this step:

    • A New Perspective
    • San Andreas Sightseer
    • All’s Fare in Love and War
    • TP Industries Arms Race
    • Multi-Disciplined
    • Three Man Army
    • Out of Your Depth
    • A Lot of Cheddar
    • Trading Pure Alpha
    • Pimp My Sidearm
    • Los Santos Customs

Step 5: Replaying the Missions For the Gold Medals

If you left getting the Gold Medals on the missions for later, this is the perfect moment to do them. At this point, you should be able to manage to complete some missions again while also accomplishing some specific requests.

The only achievement you’ll get by getting all the Gold Medals is Solid Gold, Baby!

    Step 6: The 100% Completion

If you followed all the steps, you should be able to get the Career Criminal achievement, which means you got a 100% completion in the Story Mode. Don’t worry; I’ll let you a checklist in case you missed something.

That’s everything about GTA V, but we have to leave Michael, Trevor, and Franklin behind and focus on our Online character, as we will be completing the GTA Online achievements.

    GTA Online Achievements

    GTA Online Achievements

These achievements will be separated from the oldest to the newest ones as that order will make you get a lot of profit to afford the heists’ costs.

Step 7: Base Online Game Achievements

These achievements will take you to complete the most basic activities of the Online mode, like completing races, survivals, gang attacks, store hold-ups, etc. Most of them are very easy if you dominate GTA V’s mechanics; others will take you a while as they are hard challenges, but, for sure, you’ll have a lot of fun starting with these.

These are the achievements you’ll unlock in this step:

    • Off The Plane
    • Three-Bit Gangster
    • Making Moves
    • Above The Law
    • Numero Uno
    • Backseat Driver
    • The Midnight Club
    • Unnatural Selection
    • Clean Sweep
    • Run Like The Wind
    • Stick Up Kid
    • Enjoy Your Stay
    • Crew Cut
    • Full Refund
    • Dialing Digits
    • American Dream

    Step 8: Heist Achievements

    Heist Achievements
    Image from Fandom

The activities that give you the most money are the heists, so, commonly, you’ll get some achievements out of there. Most of these achievements are just completing certain heists; others will require you to do some additional activities.

These are the achievements you’ll get during this step:

    • Shot Caller
    • Be Prepared
    • Four Way
    • Live a Little
    • Can’t Touch This
    • Decorated and Mastermind
    • In the Name of Science
    • Dead Presidents
    • Parole Day

Also, the Doomsday Heist update has its achievements; these are:

    • Getting Started
    • Orbital Obliteration
    • Elitist
    • Masterminds
    • The Data Breaches
    • The Bogdan Problem
    • The Doomsday Scenario
    • A World Worth Saving

    Last Step: Los Santos Legend

After completing all the achievements of GTA V and GTA Online, you’ll be one of the few players with Los Santos Legend, the hardest achievement to get in the GTA Saga.

    Step 1 Achievements

Of course, there are some achievements that you’ll receive only for completing the game, so these will be the first ones you’ll get. Here’s a list of the first achievements we will get in GTA V and which missions will give them:

    • Rarity: Silver.
    • Percentage Earned: 28.51%
    • Difficulty: 5/10.

You’ll need to complete the game’s final mission (that can be Something Sensible, The Time’s Come, or The Third Way) to get this achievement.

That’s all with the Story Mode missions, but there are some “Strangers and Freaks” and Random Events missions that will give you an achievement. Let’s start with Trevor.

    Altruist Acolyte

    Altruist Acolyte achievement
    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 14.16%
    • Difficulty: 3/10.

This achievement will be unlocked after meeting the Altruist Cult as Trevor. This is a Random Event where you should explore Mount Chiliad until finding them on the map as a blue dot.

The Altruists are a cannibal cult that asks Trevor to bring some people to the cult as they need their “lost souls,” while Trevor will get $1000 for each person he brings. You need to bring them alive, and to do it, you’ll have to use the other Random Events.

Random Events are random-triggered side missions that require players to take someone to a certain place. Some Random Events reward you with loads of money, while others don’t give you much, and those are the Random Event characters you’ll bring to the cult.

I’ll give you a list of the ones that are good to take to the cult and those that will give you good rewards and are bad to take to the cult.

    Suitable For The Cult

    • The kidnapped girl in Vinewood Hills who doesn’t give you any reward.
    • The drunk couple in Sandy Shores Medical Center.
    • The drunk driver in La Puerta.

    Not Suitable For The Cult

    • Patrick McReary, who’s stealing a drug store in Strawberry. He will help you as a gunman for the heist missions.
    • Antonia Bottino, the girl we can save from being buried alive in North Point on Paleto Bay. She will give you $60k.

    Wanted: Alive or Alive

    Wanted: Alive or Alive achievement
    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 12.19%
    • Difficulty: 3/10.

To get this achievement, you need to bring an alive bond target to Maude Eccles, in Sonora Desert.

This one is very easy. First, with Trevor, go to the “Strangers and Freaks” mission with Maude Eccles. She will give you some bail bond targets to hunt, and, on their files, you’ll see their latest known location, and the targets will be there.

You only have to scare them by shooting and damaging their car without making it explode, and if your selected target is on foot, just scare them by shooting near their feet. They eventually will get scared enough to surrender, and that’s when you take them to Maude, and you get the achievement.

    Kifflom!

    Kifflom! achievement

    • Rarity: Silver.
    • Percentage Earned: 6.41%
    • Difficulty: 5/10.

Time to let Trevor rest for a while and focus on Michael. For this achievement, you’ll have to take all the missions from the Epsilon Program. To start with them, you’ll have to take a survey on the in-game website www.Epsilonprogram.com, and then you can continue with the missions. They are easy but keep in mind you’ll be spending a lot of money here.

All the missions are very easy except for the last one, where you have to look for ten Epsilon Tracts through the map.

To finish this first step, let’s talk about the Strangers and Freaks missions with Franklin. They don’t give achievements right now but are needed for the 100% completion achievement, so you have to complete them. These are:

    • Pulling Favours (and the following missions) with Tonya, in Strawberry, near Franklin’s first house.
    • Shift Work with Hao in Strawberry near an LS Customs.
    • Grass Roots (and the following missions) with Barry in Textile City.
    • Paparazzo (and the following missions) with Beverly in West Vinewood.
    • Risk Assessment (and the following missions) with Dom in Vinewood Hills.
    • Exercising Demons with Mary-Ann at the North of Paleto Bay.

    Step 2 Achievements

The longest step yet the one with the least achievements to get, and it’s because here will be doing all the collectibles and challenges. So take a chopper and start hunting!

    A Mystery, Solved

    A Mystery, Solved achievement

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 4.73%
    • Difficulty: 7/10.

For this achievement, you’ll have to collect all the 50 Letter Scraps and then visit Peter Dreyfuss as Franklin in his home on Vinewood Hills and kill him. The encounter with Dreyfuss is tagged as a “Strangers and Freaks.”

    From Beyond the Stars

    From Beyond the Stars achievement

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 5.25%
    • Difficulty: 7/10.

To make the Spaceship Parts appear, you must first meet Omega with Franklin and complete his mission, Far Out, which is tagged as a “Strangers and Freaks” mission. You’ll find Omega in a Trailer Park in Sonora Desert. It’s important to talk with him first; otherwise, you won’t be able to get the collectibles.

After getting the 50 Spaceship Parts, you have to meet Omega again. Then, you’ll get the achievement. Take into account that doing this achievement counts towards the 100% completion achievement.

    Waste Management

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 4.96%
    • Difficulty: 6/10.

You’ll have to buy the Sonar Collections Dock in Paleto Cove and then get the 30 Nuclear Waste Barrels to get this achievement.

    Cryptozoologist

    Cryptozoologist achievement

    • Rarity: Silver.
    • Percentage Earned: 3.13%
    • Difficulty: 8/10.

You’ll need to unlock all the playable animals; to do it, you’ll need to get all the 27 Peyote Plants in San Andreas. This achievement is very important for the following step and can be really hard to pull as the Peyote Plants are very hard to locate.

Now that we have done all the Collectibles, let’s get into the Challenges.

    Show Off

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 6.47%
    • Difficulty: 7/10.

You’ll have to complete all the 50 Stunt Jumps to get this achievement. I recommend doing this with a bike instead of a car.

    Close Shave

    Close Shave gta

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 3.15%
    •  Difficulty: 8/10.

And for this achievement, you’ll have to do all the Flyings Under Bridges and Knife Flights. So again, I recommend doing this with a helicopter instead of a plane.

This one is very hard to pull out as it’s very easy to miss some bridges because some of them look identical to each other. Meanwhile, most Knife Flights are located in the city and on big buildings, so it’s not hard to get confused with these.

    Step 3 Achievements

Here, we will be doing the Director Mode achievements. We didn’t make these earlier as we needed to unlock some perks that will work to get more achievements. Let’s get started!

    Vinewood Visionary

    Vinewood Visionary gta v
    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 8.93%
    •  Difficulty: 2/10.

This achievement can be tricky if you don’t know how to do it, and the game doesn’t give you any hints or tutorials, but here I am to help.

The first thing to do to get this achievement is start recording. You’ll need to press the button assigned to change between characters, and, upside the minimap, you’ll see an option named “Start Recording” and an assigned button; press it, and you’ll be recording.

You’ll need at least 3 seconds of video to get the achievement. Then, you can cut the recording the same way you started it, getting into the character switch menu and pressing the assigned button to stop recording.

After getting your recording, pause the game and search “Rockstar Editor” in the menu. When you get into that option, you’ll select “Create New Project” and then go to “Add Clip.”

If you haven’t recorded something before, the only clip you’ll see there is the one you recorded previously; you have to select it. There’s no need to edit it; the only thing left is to get to the previous menu and select “Export.” The achievement should pop out after the exporting process.

    Majestic

    Majestic achievement
    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Silver.
    • Percentage Earned: 4.24%
    • Difficulty: 4/10.

You’ll have to upload ten videos with the same method explained before to get this achievement. The first video you uploaded counts as one, so you’ll need to upload the other nine, and you’ll be done.

    First Time Director

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 43.83%
    • Difficulty: 1/10.

To get this achievement, you only have to enter the Director Mode for the first time as an unlocked character. Also, I recommend mixing this achievement with the next one, so you don’t repeat the process twice.

    Humans of Los Santos

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 3.30%
    • Difficulty: 6/10.

This one will take you a while as you have to explore the city to find the special characters. If you were aware of the Random Encounters when completing the Story Mode, you probably saw at least one of these as they are random encounters marked on the map as friends, and the only thing you can do with them is talk. However, they have interesting things to tell, and others won’t talk with you but will give you a show.

You know you are near a special character when you see a light blue dot in the minimap; the only thing you need to do is approach and interact with them.

If you don’t have all of them, here’s a checklist to see if you miss someone:

    • Andy Moon: Vespucci/Mallegan Avenue, near a Nut Buster restaurant.
    • Baygor: Near the Vangelico Jewelry Store in Rockford Hills.
    • Bill Binder: Outside a supermarket in Paleto Boulevard or Procopio Drive in Paleto Bay.
    • Clinton: In Sandy Shores, at the northernmost street of the town.
    • Griff: In the RV Sale store on Route 68, in Harmony.
    • Impotent Rage: Outside a comic store in Eclipse Boulevard.
    • Jane: In Rockford Hills City Hall, near the fountain.
    • Jerome: Near a liquor store on Dutch London Street, in Rancho.
    • Jesse: In Del Perro Pier.
    • Mani: in Alta, near some Mexican food restaurants.
    • Pamela Drake: In front of the Von Crastenburg Hotel in Downtown Vinewood.
    • Zombie (Graham): In Alta, near Vinewood Boulevard.

After unlocking all the special characters, you’ll only need to enter the Director Mode with one of them, and you’ll get the achievement.

    Animal Lover

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 12.83%
    • Difficulty: 8/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to enter the Director Mode as one of the animals unlocked with the Peyote Plant collectible. This was the achievement that needed the previous step to get it.

    Ensemble Piece

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Silver.
    • Percentage Earned: 5.57%
    •  Difficulty: 6/10.

This achievement will be unlocked after unlocking all the Story Mode characters from the Director Mode and entering a scene with one of them. Of course, if you don’t finish the Story Mode, you won’t get this achievement.

Most of the characters will be unlocked by simply playing the main missions, but some characters get unlocked after meeting them in a Strangers and Freaks mission. If you missed one of them, here’s a checklist:

    • Beverly Felton (Paparazzo)
    • Cris Formage (Gotten after completing the Kifflom! achievement)
    • Maude Eccles (Gotten after completing the Wanted: Alive or Alive achievement)
    • Mrs. Thornhill (Gotten after starting Vinewood Souvenirs, a “Strangers and Freaks” mission in Vinewood Hills. You don’t have to end these missions; the first one will be enough; they don’t count towards the 100% completion achievement).

    Cult Movie

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 4.84%
    • Difficulty: 5/10.

For this achievement, you’ll have to enter the Director Mode with Cris Formage, the Epsilon Program leader. You’ll meet him by doing the Epsilon Program missions.

    Location Scout

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 4.79%
    • Difficulty: 3/10.

You might think you’ll need to travel through the map to make this achievement, but this can be easily done by entering the Director Mode and then switching locations until you visit all of them. To get to the switching locations menu, you’ll need to hold the menu button for a while, and the menu will pop out.

    Method Actor

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 23.56%
    • Difficulty: 1/10.

You’ll need to create a GTA Online character and enter the Director Mode with them to get this achievement.

It’s time to get into the Step 4 achievements, where we will be playing several fun activities. Personally, it’s my favorite part. Let’s go!

    Step 4 Achievements

    A New Perspective

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 15.32%
    • Difficulty: 7/10.

You’ll have to play in First Person Mode for 15 in-real-life hours to get this achievement. There’s not any advice other than just playing the game. The good thing about it is that the following achievements can be done while using the First-Person Mode, as they aren’t hard at all. Another thing that might help you is playing GTA Online while using the First-Person Mode.

    San Andreas Sightseer

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Silver.
    • Percentage Earned: 6.66%
    •  Difficulty: 7/10.

You need to explore at least 95% of the map to get this achievement. So my best advice is to take a plane and start flying over the map for a while, revealing all the map parts you haven’t explored yet.

Eventually, the achievement will pop up. Also, if you need some extra help, check on the map, fly directly to the blurred spots, and remember that the sea also counts, but don’t fly very far from San Andreas!

All’s Fare In Love and War

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.

For this achievement, you’ll have to buy Downtown Cab Co. Then, some in-game days after buying the place, you’ll be receiving calls from Raúl, the business manager. He will ask you for a Private Fare. Complete it, and the achievement will be yours.

To complete this achievement, you’ll have to purchase the McKenzie Field Hangar, which you’ll visit after completing Nervous Ron. Then, you’ll have to complete 5 Air Trafficking missions. The Air Trafficking missions are those you have to do on the plane.

For this achievement, you’ll have to get at least one Gold Medal in every hobby and pastime of the game. There are six pastimes and hobbies in GTA V: Shooting Range Challenges, Flight Schools, Triathlons, Sea Races, Street Races, and Offroad Races.

    • Shooting Ranges: There can only be taken in two Ammu-nations, Cypress Flats and Pillbox Hill. You’ll be able to stop at a shooting range after paying $14, and there, you’ll have some challenges available. You only have to complete one with a gold medal to continue with the next one. Take the first one, which is the easiest, and aim for the center of the bullseye.
    • Flight Schools: The flying school is located in Los Santos International Airport, and you’ll only need to complete the first mission, the take-off, with a gold medal to continue. If you know how to fly a plane, this will be very easy.
    • Triathlons: The triathlons are available near LSIA, and after the mission “Daddy’s Little Girl,” they will require the player to do a race against the other seven contestants in a circuit where you have to run, use a cycle, and swim to win. You’ll only have to win the first race to advance on the achievement.
    • Sea Races: These are races on Seasharks and are fairly easy as you’ll only need to win the race to get a gold medal and continue.
    • Street Races: These can only be unlocked after meeting Hao (Only with Franklin) on a sideway in Pillbox Hill. He will unlock you a “Strangers and Freaks” mission where he tells you about night street races. Then, he will send you a message telling you that there’s a race available, win it, and you’ll get the gold medal.
    • Offroad Races: These races will be available after “Mr. Philips.” You’ll only need to win one to get a medal and complete the achievement.

Even though you only need one medal per pastime to complete the achievement, I highly recommend you complete all the challenges inside the pastimes as they are needed for the 100% completion.

    Three Man Army

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 6.39%
    • Difficulty: 5/10.

For this achievement, you need to survive for three minutes to a three (or more) wanted level chasing with the three main characters.

To do it, you first need to take one of the characters and call the other two to hang out. Then, gain the three-star wanted level by simply killing a couple of cops. After that, take a car and start escaping.

Be careful and count the time you have while being chased; you can miss this one if you hide before the three minutes.

For this achievement, you’ll need to get eaten by a shark in the ocean.

This one is very easy; grab a boat, start going through the Pacific Ocean, and don’t stop traveling with it until the boat messes up. Then, go to the sea and get killed by a shark. The achievement will pop up afterward.

    • Difficulty: 6/10.

This achievement is actually tricky as you need to spend $200M between the three characters of the game, and if you don’t know how to do it, you can lose all your money, but there’s a trick, and you’ll only need one character to pull it out.

Go to your phone and select “Money and Services” on the navigator. It’ll take you to some web pages, and you’ll select “www.lcn-exchange.com” While on the web page, go to “Markets,” select the investment with the highest “Current Price,” and spend all your money buying stocks. After that, immediately sell all the stocks you bought to take the money back and repeat the process until you get the achievement.

    Trading Pure Alpha

    • Percentage Earned: 25.65%
    • Difficulty: 2/10.

Another tricky achievement that will encourage you to spend a lot of money when it’s not necessary as to do it, you need to get some money out of buying stocks.

For this achievement, go to the LCN Exchange web page you visit for the previous achievement and buy one stock of several investments. Then, wait for a time to pass (you can do it by sleeping or taking a mission) and check the “Your Portfolio” page to see if one of the investments you did made some money. If one of them did, sell the stock, and you’ll get the achievement.

This achievement will be unlocked after modifying all the characteristics of a vehicle.

We are almost finished; the fifth step is to replay the missions to get the gold medal. Of course, this can also take you a while, but at this point, you’ll have a lot of time playing the game, and now you should be able to dominate all its perks.

    Step 5 Achievements

    Solid Gold, Baby!

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Gold.
    • Percentage Earned: 2.76%
    • Difficulty: 8/10.

The Gold Medals are special requirements in missions. Normally, all the missions can have three or four requirements to get the Gold Medal. And to get this achievement, you’ll need to get 70 Gold Medals.

There are 120 of them available, and the Story Mode missions can give up to 74, so you can grind those. If you don’t want to do it, or feel like they are hard, you can also try the “Strangers and Freaks” missions, as they are easy.

Anyway, this achievement can be easier than you might think as you can do the requirements for the Gold Medal separately; you don’t need to do them all in one run of the mission.

So, we ended with all the achievements, and all we did through the game ended up finishing here, with the 100% completion achievement.

    Step 6, 100% Achievement

    Career Criminal

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Gold.
    • Percentage Earned: 3.14%
    • Difficulty: 8/10.

For this achievement, you’ll have to have a 100% in your Story Mode progression bar. You can miss some of the requirements for getting points in the 100%; that’s why I made a list of all the requirements needed to get the achievement:

    • Complete the 60 main missions of the game, including the Assassinations given by Lester.
    • Complete at least 14 Random Events.
    • Complete all Franklin’s Strangers and Freaks missions. These are Grass Roots with Barry, Paparazzo with Beverly, Risk Assessment (and the following ones) with Dom, A Starlet in Vinewood (after collecting the Letter Scraps), Shift Work with Hao, Exercising Demons with Mary-Ann, Far Out and The Final Frontier (After collecting the Spaceship Parts) with Omega, and Pulling Favors (and the following ones) with Tonya.
    • Complete at least 42 of the 59 available hobbies. These can be all the Shooting Range medals (at least Bronze), playing Golf (You don’t need to win), winning at Tennis and Darts, completing all the triathlons, Street Races, Off-Road Races, and Sea Races, completing the Flight School and all the Parachute Jumps and get a private dance at the Strip Club.
    • Complete all Under The Bridge flyings, Knife Flights, and Jump Stunts.
    • Lastly, there are miscellaneous tasks that you need to complete:
      • Purchase a property.
      • Purchase a vehicle from a website.
      • Walk and play with Chop.
      • Complete a Booty Call. 6 available girls can have a Booty Call. Four of them can be found at the Strip Club, and you’ll have to have a private dance with one of them and touch them (without getting caught by the guards) until they get convinced to have a private session at the back of the club. After that, you’ll get their number, and you can call them to get another session in their houses. After the session, you’ll get some spicy photos and the progress of the achievement.
      • Pick up a prostitute and pay for their services.
      • Rob a gas station store
      • Watch a movie in the Cinema
      • Hang out with the other characters by playing Darts, watching a movie, going to the Strip Club, and visiting a Bar
      • Accomplishing all of those activities will give you the 100% completion achievement.

    GTA Online Achievements

Now that we ended with the GTA V achievements, it’s time to get into the ones that will take you the most, the Online achievements.

They aren’t hard by themselves, the problem is that you must need a lot of resources for some of them, and the only way to get them is by playing constantly. Nonetheless, let’s start with the ones you can pull out when starting in GTA Online.

    Step 7 Achievements

    Off The Plane

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 76.17%
    • Difficulty: 1/10.

To get the first Online achievement, you’ll have to get into the GTA Online mode, create your character, and do the introduction. Then, after meeting Lamar for the first time, you’ll get the achievement. Now, you are free to explore the map.

    Three-Bit Gangster

There are three achievements involving getting your rank up through EXP that you’ll get while doing the rest. Fortunately, these will eventually pop up if you just play the game.

This achievement is the first one, and to unlock it, you’ll have to reach Rank 25.

    Making Moves

    • Rarity: Silver.
    • Percentage Earned: 40.16%
    •  Difficulty: 5/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to get to Rank 50.

    Above The Law

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Gold.
    • Percentage Earned: 23.84%
    • Difficulty: 6/10.

Lastly, to get this achievement, you’ll need to get to Rank 100.

As I said, you’ll get these achievements passively while completing the other ones, so let’s talk about the others.

    Numero Uno

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 4.89%
    • Difficulty: 7/10.

This is one of the hardest achievements the Online Mode has, as you’ll have to get first place in every single activity the Online Mode offers. These are 16:

    • Arm Wrestling. You can access this one in every bar, and you’ll have to wait for a player to join. Then, you’ll have to repeatedly move the control stick sideways until one of the two contestants win.
    • Darts. You’ll access it in clubhouses or the Yellow Jack Inn in Sonora Desert. You’ll play a darts match against another player, and the contestant who makes more points will win.
    • Parachuting. You’ll be jumping out of a plane against another seven players, and your mission is to pass through ring-shaped checkpoints, receiving points for accuracy. The player who scores more points during the drop will be the winner, so do it steady and slow instead of running to the floor. To get access to parachuting matches, you’ll have to find them on the minimap.
    • Golf. You can get access to a golf match at Los Santos Golf Club. There you’ll be playing a golf match against other players.
    • Tennis. You can play it in Chumash or Vespucci, and you’ll be facing another player in a tennis match.
    • Shooting Ranges. You can play them at the same Ammu-Nation in Pillbox Hill, Cypress Flats, or your bunker. You can make it against up to another three players, and the one who scores more points will win.
    • Races. There are six types: Bike, Land, Sea, Air, Rally, and GTA Races. They all have to be set by a player, or you can find them through the map.
    • Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch. These have to be set by a player, and to win, you (or your team) have to have the most kills in the match.
    • Gang Attacks. These will be unlocked after Rank 18, and you can see them as big red spaces on the minimap. You only need to complete one to continue.
    • Survivals. These will be unlocked after Rank 15, and it’s the hardest game mode to win as you’ll have to handle ten waves of enemies by yourself or with companions (which is highly recommended).

After completing every single activity, you’ll be rewarded with the achievement. Unfortunately, this is one of those you’ll be doing in several game sessions and the one that will drain you the most hours in the game.

    Backseat Driver

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 7.91%
    • Difficulty: 5/10.

You’ll get this achievement after winning a Rally Race as a co-driver. In Rally Races, the driver can see the road ahead but will not know the path, while the co-driver is in charge of letting the driver know where to go. So, I recommend trying this achievement by playing with a friend you know as it’ll be very easy to guide them with your voice.

    The Midnight Club

    Image from Fandom

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 23.56%
    • Difficulty: 4/10.

You’ll get this achievement after winning five races with a modded car. It’s as simple as modding a car in Los Santos Customs and using it for races. It doesn’t have to be consecutive races, so don’t worry about that.

    Unnatural Selection

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 25.27%
    • Difficulty: 5/10.

You’ll get this achievement by completing the ten waves of a Survival game. Again, I recommend trying this with a big group and on maps with many hiding spots.

    Clean Sweep

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 34.83%
    • Difficulty: 4/10.

You’ll need to complete a Gang Attack without dying and killing at least ten enemies to get this achievement.

    Run Like The Wind

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 38.16%
    • Difficulty: 2/10.

This achievement will pop up after surviving an in-game day with a bounty on your head. So, you might think this is very hard to accomplish, but it’s probably the easiest achievement to get in the Online mode.

The only thing you need to do is enter a private session where you’ll be alone and start stealing cars until an NPC puts a bounty on you. Then, you only have to wait until the in-game day passes, which will take you exactly 48 minutes.

Also, be aware of moving through the map while doing this to prevent getting kicked by inactivity.

    Stick Up Kid

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 17.61%
    • Difficulty: 3/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to do a hold-up in all 20 stores of the game. This one is easy as you will see them on the map, and after stealing in a store, it’ll appear as a green check.

    Enjoy Your Stay

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 6.35%
    • Difficulty: 5/10.

I left this achievement at this point of the step as to get it, you’ll have to complete a list of activities in the game, and if you did Numero Uno and Stick Up Kid, you’ll have most of them done.

    Here’s the list:

    • Play a match of Tennis, Golf, Darts, and Arm Wrestling.
    • Have a Shooting Range session.
    • Rob a store.
    • Visit the Strip Club and pay for a private dance.
    • Buy some clothes, get a tattoo, and a hairstyle change.

After completing all of those activities, the achievement will be yours.

    Crew Cut

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 40.38%
    • Difficulty: 1/10.

You’ll get this achievement by winning some money from an activity while being part of a crew. You can create a crew or join a random one through the Social Club, and the activity can be a Survival, a Deathmatch, a Race, a Heist, etc. You don’t have to win; it’s enough if you finish it.

    Full Refund

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 21.56%
    • Difficulty: 2/10.

You’ll have to get robbed and then kill the thief who robbed you to get this achievement.

To rob someone, you have to get to Rank 50, and then Lamar will help you by calling someone who will rob your objective. The objective will not know who will be the thief, so, I recommend doing this achievement with a friend in a private session, where your friend asks for a thief on you, and then you kill the thief.

    Dialling Digits

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 26.69%
    • Difficulty: 4/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to call for help from Merryweather for $5k. To do this, you have to be at least Rank 20, having met Trevor and having done his introductory missions.

    American Dream

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 59.87%
    • Difficulty: 5/10.

This achievement will be yours after buying a hideout with a garage and a car with insurance. You’ll get the car after the GTA Online introduction, while you’ll need to find an apartment with a big garage on the in-game internet and buy it.

Now that we ended with the base game achievements let’s check on the Heist Update ones.

    Step 8 Achievements

These are the latest achievements added to the game. Most of them are based on completing certain heist missions or jobs, so they are pretty straightforward.

    Shot Caller

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 45.22%
    • Difficulty: 2/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to set a heist up with your own money. The heist can be set up after Rank 12 and after having a big house with a heist planning room.

    Be Prepared

    Image from Fandom

    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 73.98%
    • Difficulty: 3/10.

For this achievement, you’ll have to complete a heist setup mission where you lookup for some equipment or props to make a heist. You should get the achievement after doing the first setup mission for The Fleeca Job.

    Four Way

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 14.78%
    • Difficulty: 1/10.

You’ll get this achievement after splitting the rewarded money by 25% for the four participants on a heist—a very easy achievement to get.

    Live a Little

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Silver.
    • Percentage Earned: 7.17%
    • Difficulty: 7/10.

This is a very hard achievement as to have it, you’ll need to spend $8M buying vehicles added during the Heist Update. They are:

    • Dinka Enduro (Bike)
    • Vapid Guardian (Car)
    • Karim Kuruma (Normal and Armored) (Car)
    • Lampadati Casco (Car)
    • Jobuilt Velum 5-seated (Plane)
    • Mammoth Hydra (Plane)
    • HVY Insurgent (Car)
    • HVY Insurgent Pick-Up (Car)
    • Buckingham Valkyrie (Helicopter)
    • Maibatsu Mule (Car)
    • Karim Technical (Car)
    • Brute Boxville (Car)
    • Declasse Gang Burrito (Car)
    • Savage (Chopper)
    • Principe Lectro (Bike)

    Can’t Touch This

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 39.34%
    • Difficulty: 4/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to complete a heist’s Finale mission without taking damage. Of course, the easiest way to get this is by setting the difficulty of a heist on easy and doing a quick one, like The Fleeca Job.

    Decorated and Mastermind

    Decorated

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Silver.
    • Percentage Earned: 24.34%
    • Difficulty: 5/10.

    Mastermind

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Silver.
    • Percentage Earned: 14.38%
    • Difficulty: 5/10.

You’ll get Decorated after getting 30 Platinum Awards on any activity, while Mastermind will be yours after getting 25 Platinum Awards in Heist missions.

I’m putting these two together as the Heist missions count for both achievements, and they are the easiest way to get both.

The Awards are just a rank you get after completing a mission or an activity. Depending on how many players are in the activity, you can get Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum. Getting a specific rank will depend on how well you did in a mission; normally, you’ll get the Platinum Award if you don’t crash the mission’s vehicles, don’t die very often, and do the missions quickly.

If you want the easiest route, play The Fleeca Job repeatedly; you can get 3 Platinum Awards per heist, and the heist is very easy. Also, it is the easiest heist to get a Platinum Award as it is only available for two players.

    In The Name Of Science

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 26.71%
    • Difficulty: 6/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to complete two heists: The Humane Lab Raid and the Series A-Funding.

For The Humane Lab Raid, the objective is to enter the Humane Laboratories to steal nerve gas and other chemical weapons.

For the Series A-Funding, you’ll be helping Trevor and Ron steal every sort of drug from Vagos, Ballas, Farmers and more to deliver them to an unknown seller.

    Dead Presidents

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 31.50%
    • Difficulty: 6/10.

You’ll have to complete The Fleeca Job and The Pacific-Standard Job to get this achievement.

On The Fleeca Job, you’ll steal in a small Western Highway bank. The heist consists of hacking into the bank system, stealing an armored car from a Korean crew to use it as a getaway car, and then raiding the bank.

The Pacific-Standard Job is also about stealing into a bank: this time, the Pacific Standard Bank in Downtown Vinewood.

    Parole Day

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 44.81%
    • Difficulty: 6/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to complete The Prison-Break Heist. It consists of stealing a Prison Bus and getaway cars while killing some enemies from the inmate you are designated to take from the prison. This heist is particularly difficult as the four crew members have to do different things on the mission finale.

We are about to finish; the last part of this step is to get the achievements from The Doomsday Heist. Let’s go!

    Getting Started

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 28.15%
    • Difficulty: 5/10.

For this achievement, you’ll have to set The Doomsday Heist up; you don’t need to do anymore. But, to have the capability of setting it up, you’ll have to be the CEO of an organization or part of a Motorcycle Club and use the facilities to set the heist.

The next three achievements are about completing the three acts of The Doomsday Heist.

    The Data Branches

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Bronze.
    • Percentage Earned: 33.76%
    • Difficulty: 7/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to complete Act 1 of The Doomsday Heist. Here, you’ll have to steal some paramedic equipment, four sports cars to use as getaway cars, and an attack helicopter to proceed to the setup. You can buy these preps for $94500 or take them by yourself.

Then, the Finale mission consists of entering the IAA headquarters to protect the place from some hackers.

    The Bogdan Problem

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Silver.
    • Percentage Earned: 34.36%
    • Difficulty: 8/10.

This achievement will be yours after completing Act II of The Doomsday Heist. Here, you’ll also need some preps that you can buy for $94500 or take it by yourself. This time, you need keycards from a van in LSIA, some information about a kidnapped agent, a Riot Control Van by causing a riot in the city, four Strombergs, and two Torpedo ECUs.

The mission finale consists of the team splitting to raid the submarine mentioned earlier while taking enemies down with the stolen aircraft.

    The Doomsday Scenario

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Silver.
    • Percentage Earned: 21.15%
    • Difficulty: 8/10.

For this achievement, you’ll have to complete Act III from The Doomsday Heist. Here, you’ll be stealing some cash, doing a recon of a shipyard, retrieving a missile truck, a briefcase with information about a Barrage ATV, and a laptop with information about a tank. Lastly, you and your crew have to take a hydra jet down. As always, you can buy the preps or get them by yourself.

The finale of this act consists of using the Barrage or the tank to raid a Missile Launch Base to avoid a big war.

    Elitist

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Silver.
    • Percentage Earned: 0.59%
    • Difficulty: 9/10.

You’ll get this achievement after completing the elite challenges on The Doomsday Heist. All the finales have some extra challenges, and if you complete them, you’ll get extra money. If you complete the three finales with the challenges, you’ll get this achievement.

So, here are the challenges you need to complete in the three Acts of The Doomsday Heist.

    • Act I: Complete the mission in 5:30 minutes, kill at least 78 enemies, and the crew members must not die.
    • Act II: Complete the mission in 15 minutes, receive less than 5% of damage, and the crew members must not die at any moment.
    • Act III: Complete the mission in 30 minutes, don’t fail any hacking attempt, land 150 headshots, and the crew members must not die.

I recommend playing the acts several times to learn the enemy patterns and how they spawn in the missions, the map, and your surroundings. That will help you find a good place to hide if needed or a place to regroup if separated. Of course, you won’t complete this on the first attempt, so it’s a good option if you do the missions at easy difficulty. Practice makes perfect!

    Masterminds

    Image from Fandom
    • Rarity: Silver.
    • Percentage Earned: 0.47%
    • Difficulty: 9/10.

To get this achievement, you’ll have to complete all of The Doomsday Heist Acts in Hard difficulty and prevent your teammates and you from dying. Act I has to be completed with a team of two players, Act II with a team of three, and Act III with a team of four.

Here are some tips to get this done:

    • To get the challenge completed, you can’t buy the preps; you have to get them by yourself.
    • Don’t worry if you die during the preps missions; the only moments you can’t die are during the Setups and the Finale.
    • Don’t get upset if you fail during a mission; you can restart it, but be aware that you will not be able to continue with the challenge if you fail the mission because of dying.
    • Do the preps missions in a public lobby, and the Setups and Finale with some friends that you know won’t screw things up. You can call Lester when doing the Prep missions to remove your wanted level, making them very easy.
    • Also, you can do the missions in several sessions; the important thing is to follow the order; first, prep missions, then setup missions, and lastly, the finale.
    • Buy plenty of snacks in the Facility before starting the missions, and be sure you have full body armor.
