Los Santos Customs Guide

GTA V was a huge step up in quality compared to GTA IV when it was released back in 2013. Most aspects of the series were overhauled and improved upon, giving players the best GTA experience to date, which still remains popular today thanks to GTA Online. GTA V is the second best-selling game of all time, with over 160 million copies sold.

One of the improved mechanics and overhauled were garages, which had previously been used mainly to repair vehicles and lose wanted levels. In GTA V, they were revamped to allow for vehicle upgrades to improve the vehicle and the overall driving experience. This is great because you spend most of your time playing the game in a vehicle.

Bottom Line Up Front

Los Santos Customs is the name of the garages in GTA V, which you can visit to repair your vehicle and modify them. The Los Santos Customs garages can be found in both GTA V and GTA Online, offering the same upgrades across both parts of the game. However, the upgrades need to be unlocked separately.

In total, there are four Los Santos Customs garages located across Los Santos and one extra garage that players can go to. Here are all of the locations of the Los Santos Customs garages and how to find them.

Location 1

GTA V Los Santos Custom 1 Location

The first Los Santos Customs garage is located next to the Los Santos International Airport on the southwest part of the map.

Usually, you use the freeway to take you directly to the airport, but there is an exit that branches off and goes down to Los Santos Customs. This can be reached from the airport too.

Here is the sign advertising the Los Santos Customs garage that you can look out for so you make sure you don’t miss it.

Location 2

GTA V Los Santos Custom 2 Location

The second Los Santos Customs garage can be found northeast of the first one in La Mesa. This one is on the outskirts of the main city and isn’t too far away from the police station and vehicle impound.

You will often find yourself close to this garage when traveling across the city or entering it from the desert area due to one of the main eastern routes. This Los Santos Customs can be found in a back alley underneath a bridge and is out of the way and easy to miss.

Check out what the building looks like below, so you don’t miss it when hunting for it.

Location 3

GTA V Los Santos Custom 3 Location

The third location for Los Santos Customs is located in the Burton area. It is perfect for when you switch to either Michael or Franklin because both houses are close to this Los Santos Customs garage, approximately one mile away.

To get to this Los Santos Customs garage, you have to go down an alley to the back of these builds from the main road.

Location 4

GTA V Los Santos Custom 4 Location

The fourth and final Los Santos Customs is located in the Grand Senora Desert and isn’t too far away from Trevor’s airstrip. This makes this an excellent option for when you’re playing as Trevor.

This Los Santos Customs garage can also be purchased by Franklin for $349,000 after completing a mission for Nervous Ron. The garage will generate $1,600 per week in revenue, and vehicle repairs and modifications will become free while visiting that garage with Franklin. It is possible to upgrade the vehicles of Michael and Trevor, as well as Amanda de Santa’s and Tracey’s vehicles.

Here is what the Grand Senora Desert Los Santos Customs garage looks like. It is a bit more incognito than the previous ones. It is straightforward to miss as it just looks like another building that you can’t access

Bekker’s Garage

GTA V Beeker's Garage Map

There is a fifth garage located in Paleto Forest, almost on the northern peak of the map, and it isn’t technically a Los Santos Customs garage. However, it still acts the same as one. This garage is called Bekker’s Garage and can be found tucked away behind a gas station.

This is what Bekker’s Garage looks like. This one would be easily missed if you weren’t looking for the icon on your map as it is surrounded by other buildings that can’t be interacted with. But it is handy to know that it is there for when you’re on this part of the map as it is an area where you need to travel many miles to get back into the city.

How To Enter Los Santos Customs

GTA V Los Santos Custom Outside Shop

To enter Los Santos Customs, approach the metal shutter, and it will rise and allow you to drive in. It is worth noting that if you try and enter while you are wanted, you will be told to lose your Wanted Level first before entering.

This is different from older games in the series that allowed you to enter garages to get a respray to lose your Wanted Level.

Repair Vehicles

GTA V Los Santos Custom Repair Vehicle

One of the handiest features in Los Santos Customs is the repair vehicle option. This allows you to instantly bring your current vehicle back to its former glory.

Upon entering Los Santos Customs, this will be an option you’re immediately presented with and usually costs under $1,000, so it is always worth doing.

FAQs

Question: Can all vehicles be upgraded in GTA V?

Answer: All cars and motorbikes can be upgraded in GTA V. However, Aircraft, Bicycles, Police Cars, Fire Engines, Ambulances, Taxis, FIB, and Military vehicles are not customizable.

Question: Is Los Santos Customs in any other GTA games?

Answer: Currently, GTA V is the only game in the series to feature a Los Santos Customs garage. In the other title to take place in San Andreas, GTA: San Andreas, there was vehicle modding, but the garages were individually named, and none were known as Los Santos Customs. Instead, they were called Loco Low Co, TransFender, and Wheel Arch Angels.

Question: Will Los Santos Customs be in future GTA games?

Answer: The only time that the GTA series has been in the Los Santos/San Andreas area is 2004’s Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and 2013’s Grand Theft Auto V. In the past, Rockstar Games has released spin-off games, including Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories, leaving San Andreas as the only main location not to receive a spin-off. But, with how long modern GTA titles take to create, it is unlikely that the series will revisit the location any time soon, but it may happen eventually.

Conclusion

Los Santos Customs and vehicle modification helped add more depth to vehicles and driving in GTA V. This was a great move by Rockstar Games, considering you spend much of your time driving a vehicle.

It is unlikely that the series will take a step backward and remove vehicle modifications in future games. With over a decade between the release of GTA V and the eventual release of GTA VI, Rockstar Games will likely have made even more improvements to the mechanic.
