GTA V has never held back when it comes to providing its players the vehicle options. With 55 cars in just the supercars category, choosing the perfect vehicle with a good performance-to-price ratio can be daunting. With that said, one of the most budget-friendly supercars you can get in GTA V is the Grotti Turismo R.
If you’re a Ferrari enthusiast, the Grotti Turismo R is a must-have in your garage, being the GTA V rendition of the LaFerrari. This guide covers everything you need to know about the Turismo R in detail, including its design, performance, and customization options. So, buckle as in this Grotti Turismo R guide, we take a little trip to investigate the Turismo R, a fast and fancy automobile of Los Santos.
Grotti Turismo R Overview
The Grotti Turismo R is a hybrid-electric supercar, first released in the Business 1.11 update back in 2014 and has made its way into the hearts of many GTA V players since. In terms of its performance and design.
In GTA V Online, the Turismo R can be purchased from Legendary Motorsport in Los Santos for $500,000, which is a meager price in the supercars category, making it one of the most accessible supercars. Its resale price is 60% of the purchase price ($300,000) plus 50% of all the modifications you add on top of the base car ($438,600 when fully upgraded).Â
If you’re playing the GTA V Story Mode, getting the Turismo R to spawn for you in traffic is rare. On that note, common spawn spots of this car are Downtown Los Santos Red and White Garage, Los Santos Customs, Portola Drive, The Gentry Manor Hotel, and Richman Mansion. Furthermore, if you purchase the Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack for GTA V, you get the Grotti Turismo R for free.
Design
Being a two-seater supercar, the Grotti Turismo R takes inspiration from a bunch of real-life sports cars for its design and appearance, mainly the LaFerrari, McLaren P1, and GTA Spano.Â
While the entire front bumper and windshield are GTA’s rendition of the LaFerrari, its headlights represent the ones on the GTA Spano. On the other hand, the car’s rear is much more reminiscent of McLaren P1, as reflected by the concaved-shaped slanted sections at the back.
The overall design of the Turismo R is extremely sharp and streamlined, with nice curves around its sides above the skirts.Â
However, if you’re not impressed by the default design of the car, the Turismo R offers a large number of customization options, which we will discuss later in this guide.
Performance
Now that you’re aware of the design of the Grotti Turismo R let’s talk about the facet of this car that can make or break it for you, its performance. Frankly, the Grotti Turismo R isn’t the fastest car on the market. However, given the $500,000 price tag, you definitely get more than you bargained for at this price point.Â
Top Speed
When it comes to top speed, the Grotti Turismo R lies at the lower end in the supercar roster of GTA V and Online with 121.75 mph (195.94 km/h). It ranks 42nd with a top speed of 121.75 mph (195.94 km/h) that amounts to a lap time of 1:01.998 minutes.
However, this speed is justified due to the fact that the Turismo R is also one of the cheapest supercars you can purchase in the game.
Acceleration
The Acceleration is another aspect where the Turismo R shines among all the supercars in its price range. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in just under 3 seconds, improving with customizations that enhance its performance, like Engine and Transmission. This amped-up acceleration is to be expected since it’s a supercar weighing only 1,350 kg.
Handling
Right off the bat, the handling of the Turismo R feels rather lackluster. It drives and controls as you’d expect on the highway, but when it comes to driving in the narrow streets and around the outskirts of Los Santos, the car’s handling performance begins to decline quickly.Â
While you’re going to enjoy the engine sounds, lights, and high speed of the Turismo R on the road, the handling is not something that’s going to blow your mind.
Durability
The last thing you want to see while driving a supercar at high speeds is the hood and doors coming off after hitting a little blockade on the road. Unfortunately, the Grotti Turismo R is prone to damage. However, there are certain modifications you can install on your car to beef it up, which I am going to discuss next.
Modifications
The Grotti Turismo R has numerous modifications which allow you to customize the car’s appearance to your liking. However, full customization of this supercar can be pretty costly; hence choose the modifications that you think are worth your bucks. I’ve got you covered, though!
Proper cash management is especially important in GTA Online, where the prices for car customization are almost double those in single-player. It can help players make the most of their money and ensure that they can afford the modifications they want for their cars.
To help you select the best installments for your car, a list of complete modifications for the Grotti Turismo R, along with their costs, is given below:Â
Armor
As the Grotti Turismo R is a supercar, you definitely want some armor on your car for increased protection. If you choose to go with no armor, you’ll feel restricted in your driving as the car becomes more prone to damage from obstacles and the environment.Â
However, if you want to take advantage of its top speed and drive a little recklessly on the streets of Los Santos, I recommend getting the 100% Armor Upgrade.
Armor | GTA V | GTA Online |
No Armor | 500 Dollars | 1,000 Dollars |
Armor Upgrade 20 Percent | 2,500 Dollars | 7,500 Dollars |
Armor Upgrade 40 Percent | 6,250 Dollars | 12,000 Dollars |
Armor Upgrade 60 Percent | 10,000 Dollars | 20,000 Dollars |
Armor Upgrade 80 Percent | 17,500 Dollars | 35,000 Dollars |
Armor Upgrade 100 Percent | 25,000 Dollars | 50,000 Dollars |
Brakes
As a high-speed supercar with superb acceleration, the Grotti Turismo R could surely use better brakes to improve its performance on the road. With that said, I recommend the Sport Brakes or Race Brakes, as they significantly improve handling at higher velocities.
Brakes | GTA V | GTA Online |
Stock Brakes | 500 Dollars | 1,000 Dollars |
Street Brakes | 10,000 Dollars | 20,000 Dollars |
Sport Brakes | 13,500 Dollars | 27,000 Dollars |
Race Brakes | 17,500 Dollars | 35,000 Dollars |
Bumpers
The Bumper customization of the Grotti Turismo R wasn’t impressive until a recent update which added a chunk of Front Bumper options, especially in the GTA Online mode. Now, you can customize the front look of the car to make your car look slicker. I personally liked the Forged Sreet Splitter on my car, but you are free to customize yours to your taste.
For the rear bumper, the only option other than the stock bumper is the Secondary Diffuser, which in my opinion, is worth upgrading too.
Front Bumpers | GTA V | GTA Online |
Stock Front Bumper | NA | 2,200 Dollars |
Carbon Splitter | 2,300 Dollars | 4,600 Dollars |
Secondary Carbon Splitter | 3,700 Dollars | 7,400 Dollars |
Forged Carbon Splitter | 5,850 Dollars | 11,700 Dollars |
Sec. Forged Carbon Splitter | 7,250 Dollars | 14,500 Dollars |

Stock Rear Bumper | NA | 2,200 Dollars |
Secondary Diffuser | 2,300 Dollars | 4,600 Dollars |
Engine
Now comes the heart of the car, the superstar under the hood, the Engine. We know the engine wouldn’t provide any aesthetic value to the Grotti Turismo R, but if you’re getting a noticeable increase in the car’s top speed and acceleration, who wouldn’t take it? If you truly want bang for your buck, I say go all the way up on the Engine and get the EMS Level 4 Upgrade.
EMS Upgrades | GTA V | GTA Online |
EMS Upgrade Level 1Â | 4,500 Dollars | 9,000 Dollars |
EMS Upgrade Level 2 | 6,250 Dollars | 12,500 Dollars |
EMS Upgrade Level 3 | 9,000 Dollars | 18,000 Dollars |
EMS Upgrade Level 4 | 16,750 Dollars | 33,500 Dollars |
Exhausts
When it comes to the Exhaust of the car, the Grotti Turismo R gives more options than usual, which may seem a little confusing. To clarify, the only factor you should consider while selecting the Exhaust modification is its price and the aesthetic value it provides to the car’s aesthetic.
If you have a bunch of dollars to spare, I recommend installing the Aluminum Race Exhaust due to its pristine metallic look; that’s my favorite!
Exhaust | GTA V | GTA Online |
Stock Exhaust | 130 Dollars | 260 Dollars |
Oval Exhaust | 375 Dollars | 750 Dollars |
Chrome Tip Exhaust | 899 Dollars | 1800 Dollars |
Race Exhaust | 1,499 Dollars | 3,000 Dollars |
Carbon Oval Exhaust | 4,770 Dollars | 9,550 Dollars |
Aluminum Oval Exhaust | 4,870 Dollars | 9,750 Dollars |
Chrome Race Exhaust | NA | 10,500 Dollars |
Aluminum Race Exhaust | NA | 12,000 Dollars |
Titanium Tip Exhaust | NA | 13,750 Dollars |
Explosives
Yes, you can install bombs in your cars in GTA Online! Who would’ve seen that coming? No, but seriously, if you want to give the Grotti Turismo R explosive power to help you against griefers, you can use the Explosive customization option to install either the Ignition Bomb or a Remote Bomb.Â
So, if you really want to go over the top and drop bombs while driving, no one’s stopping you!
Explosives | GTA Online |
Ignition Bomb | 5,000 Dollars |
Remote Bomb | 7,500 Dollars |
Lights
When customizing your car’s headlights, you can either pick stock white lights or the blue-themed Xenon Lights. Despite the cost, I definitely recommend installing Xenon Lights as they would work perfectly with any paint job you pick for the Grotti Turismo R and look pretty flashy during the nighttime.
Lights | GTA V | GTA Online |
Stock Lights | 300 Dollars | 600 Dollars |
Xenon Lights | 1,400 Dollars | 7,500 Dollars |
Liveries
As with most vehicles, GTA Online provides a number of options for Liveries on your car. Your choice of Liveries on the Grotti Turismo R may depend on your car’s paint job and personal taste. I think the Red Accents work perfectly for lighter-colored and metallic exterior cars, but choose whatever you deem fit in this category.Â
In fact, you can go for no Liveries if you’re leading minimalistic; I don’t judge!Â
Livery | GTA Online |
None | 11,400 Dollars |
Black Stripes | 18240 Dollars |
White Stripes | 19380 Dollars |

Camo | 23370 Dollars |
Camo Half and Half | 23939 Dollars |
Atomic Racing | 24510 Dollars |
Whippet Racing | 25,080 Dollars |
Yogarishima Racing | 25650 Dollars |
Plates
The Grotti Turismo R has the standard Plate customization options, as with most vehicles in GTA V. It merely changes the color contrast of the back plate on your car.Â
Plates | GTA V | GTA Online |
Blue on White 1Â | 50 Dollars | 200 Dollars |
Blue on White 2 | 50 Dollars | 200 Dollars |
Blue on White 3Â | 50 Dollars | 200 Dollars |
Yellow on Blue | 75 Dollars | 300 Dollars |
Yellow on Black | 150 Dollars | 600 Dollars |
Roofs
The Grotti Turismo R features modification options for its fins and the roof. I dig the Forged Carbon Roof Fin; it is visually striking, and I absolutely love the matte black touch it gives to the car.
Regarding the roof itself, players can choose between a Painted Roof or a Carbon Roof. I have no particular preference here as both look quite decent, so you are free to choose based on your preference.
Roof Fins | GTA V | GTA Online |
None | NA | 700 Dollars |
Primary Roof Fin | 550 Dollars | 1,100 Dollars |
Carbon Roof Fin | 675 Dollars | 1,350 Dollars |

Stock Roof | 100 Dollars | 200 Dollars |
Painted Roof | 350 Dollars | 700 Dollars |
Carbon Roof | 575 Dollars | 1,150 Dollars |
Skirts
For the side skirts of the car, there are more options than usual, which may seem daunting to select from if you’re unsure of your taste. However, the skirts only make a minor difference to the side of the car, which may go unnoticed by most people. That said, Forged Skirts are the ones that stand out the most.
Skirts | GTA V | GTA Online |
None | NA | 2,500 Dollars |
Carbon Skirts | 2,750 Dollars | 5,5000 Dollars |

Spoilers
The Grotti Turismo R has an insane amount of Spoilers, and each one makes a significant change in the car’s appearance. Choosing a single one out of all 21 Spoilers seems criminal, as they’re all cool and unique in their own way.
If you do want to settle for one, I recommend Forged Carbon Aero Wing, as it is an absolute treat to look at in the game.

Suspension
The Suspension options don’t change much in terms of performance, and it’s barely noticeable when driving in the game. However, having a lower suspension makes the car run and handle smoother on uneven roads.
Therefore, if you’re planning to participate in street racing and competition, I recommend Competition Suspension.Â
Otherwise, the Stock Suspension would do just fine for a casual driver!
Suspension | GTA V | GTA Online |
Stock Suspension | 100 Dollars | 200 Dollars |
Lowered Suspension | 500 Dollars | 1000 Dollars |
Street Suspension | 1000 Dollars | 2000 Dollars |
Competition Suspension | 2200 Dollars | 4400 Dollars |
Transmission
If you want to improve your car’s acceleration, you need to install a good-quality Transmission, and for a budget supercar like the Turismo R, you can’t go wrong with the highest-rated Transmission available in the stock. That’s why I highly recommend saving some extra bucks to purchase the Race Transmission upgrade for your car.
Transmission | GTA V | GTA Online |
Stock Transmission | 500 Dollars | 1,000 Dollars |
Street Transmission | 14,750 Dollars | 29,500 Dollars |
Sports Transmission | 16,250 Dollars | 32,500 Dollars |
Race Transmission | 20,000 Dollars | 40,000 Dollars |
Turbo
If you have been using supercars in GTA V, a Turbo Tuning upgrade should be a no-brainer for you at this point. However, due to the fact that it comes with a hefty price tag of 50,000 dollars, you should only get it when you’ve unlocked all the previous upgrades.
Turbo | GTA V | GTA Online |
None | 2,500 Dollars | 5,000 Dollars |
Turbo Tuning | 12,500 Dollars | 50,000 Dollars |
Windows
Windows are another juicy upgrade that can greatly impact your car’s appearance. I have noticed that for almost every paint job and livery for the Grotti Turismo R, the Limo tint windows look the fanciest. They grant it that premium luxury car design that most race and supercars inherently lack.
Windows | GTA V | GTA Online |
None | 100 Dollars | 500 Dollars |
Light Smoke | 200 Dollars | 1500 Dollars |
Dark Smoke | 450 Dollars | 3500 Dollars |
Limo | 700 Dollars | 5000 Dollars |
Alternative: Obey 9F
The Obey 9F is a cheaper alternative to the Grotti Turismo R, costing $365,000 on Legendary Motorsports. It boasts a powerful V10 engine that delivers good acceleration (0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds) and top speed (155 mph).
The high-speed car is complimented by its decent handling and braking capabilities that allow you to cruise through the streets of Los Santos with relative ease.
Although its customizations may not live up to the standard set by the Grotti Turismo R, it is still a much more affordable option if you’re looking for a similar level of performance.
